Mesquite

Mesquite

Mesquite is a wood indigenous to the southwest United States and northern Mexico. There are several varieties of this hard, heavy wood. It is often seen as a weed and often burned as firewood, but makes a beautiful wood for crafts and smaller items.

Headboards

These headboards are all custom orders, and one of a kind. They are created to follow the wood's natural curve.  Each one has its own unique beauty.  The butterflies are added for functional aesthetics.

For Musicians - Manywood Batons and Baton Box

MANYWOOD BATONS AND BATON BOX

These batons and baton box were made for a music conductor friend of mine. The baton handles are turned on a lathe and the shafts are carbon fiber for strength and lightness. The box has a sliding top and holds several batons. The top and bottom of the box are built with many different woods and have several layers of "overlay."

Candle Holders

The candleholders are all "one of a kind." Their very organic design shows the beauty of the Mesquite, a southwestern indigenous tree. In constructing these, I let the individual pieces of wood  "dictate" the shape that is to come. Each blends natural and finished surfaces.
